During the 2021 Absa Cape Epic, all riders will be tasked with overcoming 655 kilometres and 15 550 metres of climbing between 17-24 October, and efficient hydration in racing and recovery may prove to be the difference between a spot in The Book of Legend and a non-finish.
To ensure that all riders, crew, staff and fans can battle dehydration and its effects on body and mind, the Absa Cape Epic has partnered with THIRSTI Water, a Kwazulu-Natal based water brand, as the race's Official Water partner, for three years.
THIRSTI Water's Managing Director, Rob Hoatson is delighted with the new partnership, "We are thrilled to be associated with the best mountain biking stage race in the world. Absa Cape Epic riders are people with a thirst for life, and this value is at the core of the THIRSTI brand. We will be fueling them with the ultimate in hydration - water that is sourced deep from within the Klein Drakensberg mountains, with a unique taste and pH of 8."
Echoing THIRSTI's enthusiasm, Absa Cape Epic Managing Director, Michael Flinn added, "The Absa Cape Epic is proud to announce its three-year partnership with KwaZulu-Natal based water brand, THIRSTI. Both the Absa Cape Epic and THIRSTI have unique, proudly South African brand stories that originate from humble beginnings and are centered around offering a premium product and experience.
We believe that the two brands are aligned in terms of thinking and shared values of innovation and excellence. THIRSTI's premium, natural product is sure to keep all Absa Cape Epic riders, staff and crew hydrated during The Race That Measures All and we are excited for this partnership to grow from strength to strength in the years to come."
