The Untamed Battle of the Epic Series Unfolds in Groundbreaking Six-Part Docuseries

Premiering March 4 – Episode 1 Takes Viewers Inside the World’s Toughest MTB Stage Race, The Absa Cape Epic

The Epic Series isn’t just a race - it’s a battle of endurance, grit, and pure willpower. Now, for the first time, the world will witness what it truly takes to conquer the most demanding mountain bike stage races on earth in Race the World, a brand-new six-part docuseries that pulls back the curtain on the sport’s most revered events, athletes, teams and stakeholders.

Premiering March 4, Episode 1 launches with a deep dive into the race that started it all: the Absa Cape Epic - the world’s premiere mountain bike race, in which every serious amateur mountain biker desires to participate and every professional mountain biker aspires to win. It’s a race that separates the strong from the strongest, spanning eight punishing days, over 650km, and 16,500m of climbing—the equivalent of Everest, twice. From relentless heat to brutal climbs and untamed terrain, only the toughest riders on the planet attempt it - and even fewer make it to the finish line. But Race the World is about more than just the races.

It’s about the relentless pursuit of greatness. It’s about the riders who risk it all, the teams who push through exhaustion, and the organizers who orchestrate the symphony behind these bucket-list events. With never-before-seen footage and exclusive access to the world’s elite and amateur racers, the series will take audiences into the heart of what makes these races the ultimate test of human spirit and endurance. Throughout 2025, the series will travel from the rugged landscapes of Africa to the towering peaks of the Alps, revealing the true cost of conquering these legendary events. For hardcore cyclists and dedicated fans to newcomers to the sport, this is mountain biking like it has never seen it before. Follow the adventure from the heartland of South African off-road racing, in the Western Cape, during the Absa Cape Epic to the postcard perfect islands of the Adriatic in 4Islands Epic Croatia; then scale the Pyrenees with the Andorra Epic before traversing the high passes and scintillating singletracks of the SPAR Swiss Epic.

From March, in the Rainbow Nation around Europe and back to where it all began, in November, for FNB Wines2Whales – follow along as dedicated amateurs compete alongside the world’s best mountain bikers in 2025. This isn’t just racing. It’s a battle. And it all begins now.
