Sustainable Hydration with Aquasky

Riders, together we’re changing the game for sustainability at the 2025 FNB Wines2Whales!

This year, we’re making history - eliminating all non-essential single-use plastic bottles. Instead, you’ll have access to chilled still and sparkling water on tap at multiple hydration stations across the Race Villages, paired with reusable limited-edition Epic Series cups that are sanitized daily. This bold shift will prevent over 60,000 plastic bottles from going to waste - a massive step forward for sustainability at the FNB Wines2Whales

How It Works:

  • At Registration: You’ll receive a reusable water bottles (courtesy of USN) in your rider bag—but we strongly recommend bringing along extras of your own.
  • In Rider Dining & at the finish line waterpoint: You’ll have access to limited-edition Epic Series reusable cups to use while in these spaces. When you're done, simply drop them into the clearly marked Aquasky bins—they’ll be washed, sanitized, and reused.
  • Additionally, the Big Box Water Container will be located near the Race Office for easy access throughout the day. All water is filtered and treated to the highest standards, ensuring premium-quality hydration with minimal environmental impact.
  • Need Bottled Water? If you prefer, sustainable Aquasky bottled water will be available for purchase at the Chill Zone.
  • Easy to Find: All hydration points will be clearly marked on race village maps and well-branded for your convenience.

This wouldn’t be possible without Aquasky, South Africa’s leader in sustainable hydration, whose bold innovation and commitment to conscious living are helping reshape what it means to ride with purpose. Their investment means every refill at FNB Wines2Whales keeps you moving – without leaving a mark on the planet.

At FNB Wines2Whales, we ride for the stories, the laughs, the memories made over a drink at the finish, and of course, the gees. This event has always been about more than just the ride. It’s about community, connection, and celebrating the journey from Benguela Cove to Lourensford in a way that respects and protects the incredible landscapes we ride through.

With this renewed hydration experience, we’re proving that sustainability doesn’t have to be serious – it can be fun, festive, and seamlessly woven into the vibe of the event.

This is your race, your ride, your gees – let’s leave only tyre tracks behind.
