Absa Cape Epic

It’s the Race That Measures All. Taking place in South Africa’s Western Cape region every March and covering 700km with 16 000m of climbing in eight days. The pinnacle of the Epic Series, and a race that sells out the minute entries open. It’s an intoxicating blend of tears, triumph and trails.

Epic Series Qualifier Events offer the unique opportunity of guaranteeing a team entry into the Untamed African MTB Race.

How to Qualify

Qualification slots for the Absa Cape Epic are offered via performance and a draw allocation at all Epic Series Qualifier events. Riders wishing to qualify for the Absa Cape Epic should register their interest during the online registration process when entering an Epic Series Qualifier event.

A nominal registration fee applies, with proceeds donated to an official Absa Cape Epic Charity Partner.

Epic Series Events

Performance

Earn your place by finishing amongst the top teams in your category.

Performance Entries are allocated per team.
Only one rider per team needs to register their interest.
Should a team decide not to take up their entry, it will pass on to the next highest ranked team.
Teams are required to complete the online registration process within four weeks

Draw Allocation

All riders who register their interest stand a chance to be selected.

Draw Entries are allocated per individual.
Only official finishers who registered their interest are eligible for the draw.
Should a rider decide not to take up their entry it will be redrawn.
Teams are required to complete the online registration within four weeks

Qualification slots

All entries - regardless of how they were allocated - apply exclusively to the designated Absa Cape Epic event year. While it is possible to request a transfer to a different year, this is subject strictly to availability.
