Epic Series 2025: Three Races in Europe, One Spirit
Every race in the Epic Series tells a different story shaped by its landscape, its people, and the riders who make it come alive. Yet, no matter where the trails lead through rocky islands, alpine peaks, or mountain passes the heart of every event beats the same: adventure, community, and the joy of mountain biking.
In 2025, the 4Islands Epic, Andorra Epic, and the SPAR Swiss Epic each gave riders unforgettable memories, powerful challenges, and the sense of belonging that defines the EPIC experience. Here’s what riders had to say and what made this year truly special across the series.
Few events capture the pure spirit of mountain biking like the 4Islands Epic. Riders took on rocky climbs, ferry starts, and island-to-island transitions under the Adriatic sun and they loved every minute of it. What riders said:
“It’s not just a race it’s an epic journey through islands, friendships, and the joy of shared adventure.”
Stage 3 stood out as the clear favorite, combining endless views with a perfect mix of challenge and flow. Participants praised the event’s organization, atmosphere, and community, saying it was “beautifully ride, from start line buzz to finish line celebrations.”
Many riders spent three to four months training, often using coaches and power meters to prepare but once the race began, numbers didn’t matter. What mattered was the people, the energy, and the feeling of being part of something special.
High above the valleys of the Pyrenees, the Andorra Epic offered a completely different flavor of adventure more intimate, more emotional, and beautifully raw.
Riders praised the authentic connection between athletes, locals, and organizers. The atmosphere felt personal and genuine, with stunning alpine trails, welcoming communities, and support teams who treated every rider like family. What riders said:
“Every climb was tough, every descent rewarding but the feeling of being in Andorra, surrounded by passionate riders, made it unforgettable.”
The race struck a balance between demanding terrain and magical scenery. Feedback highlighted the organization, camaraderie, and finish-line emotions as key reasons riders plan to return.
If Croatia is the wild adventure and Andorra the emotional climb, then the SPAR Swiss Epic is where mountain biking meets perfection. Riders described it as “flawless, professional, and breathtaking.”
In 2025, the Swiss Epic reached new heights:
Every element, from course markings (95%) to medical and mechanical support (over 90%), was praised for world-class organization. But what truly touched riders was the warmth behind the precision the volunteers, staff, and marshals who turned efficiency into humanity. What riders said:
“The volunteers and staff were incredible they made the event feel human, even in the middle of the Swiss Alps.” “Stage 3 and the Bernina Pass start were pure magic moments I’ll never forget.”
The trails challenging, technical, and scenic left a lasting mark. Riders loved the balance between tough climbs and flowing descents, while also suggesting more singletrack and fewer long gravel stretches for future editions. Accommodation feedback reflected both excellence and learning opportunities: while hotels like Castell and Donatz earned praise for warmth and comfort, riders suggested better athlete-focused amenities and food consistency across locations. Still, for most, it was the total experience riding through the Alps with everything running like clockwork that defined the event:
“We only had to focus on riding. Everything else worked perfectly.”
