Anna Foundation

DONATE

WEBSITE

The Anna Foundation is a charitable organisation focused on uplifting and empowering rural communities across the Western Cape.  Our flagship 3Rs programme – Reading, Running and Right-ing – is implemented at after-school centres in rural communities, serving over 700 children. The programme incorporates education, sports and life skills activities and aims to offer children lifelong learning and build positive self-worth and self-respect. This professionally designed programme is aimed at learners from aged 5 – 18 years and is taught by women from the farming communities themselves, who are trained by the Anna Foundation as part of our Women Empowerment programme.

“It is an honour and a privilege to be selected as an official charity partner of FNB Wines2Whales. While education and sport are our primary pillars for developing confidence and self-worth in our children, mountain biking specifically has become a hot favourite in our after school sports programme and we know that this will only gain more traction with exposure to this iconic event. Sincere thanks to the Wines2Whales team for their support and belief in what we do.”     – Anna Brom, Founder and Director

ILoveBoobies

WEBSITE

Join our ‘along-the-route screening program’, give your race a compelling why, and make a real, measurable difference. Do Good – Look Good – Feel Good.ILoveBoobies

Since its inception, in 2017, the ILoveBoobies programs have positively impacted many people’s lives. ILoveBoobies has screened 13500 women from disadvantaged communities and has completed a comprehensive Breast Cancer and Breast Health educational and awareness-building campaign that has reached over 15 million people in South Africa. ILoveBoobies has a global presence and is represented in 10 countries by 285 Volunteer Brand Ambassadors.

The survival rate of breast cancer in South Africa is just 40%. We believe that the best way to make a difference is to care for the mothers and grandmothers in the rural areas - If they are healthy, the kids get the best chance of a bright future. The funds raised from the FNB Wines2Whales event are deployed into the very communities that the route travels through.

National Sea Rescue Institute

DONATE

WEBSITE

The National Sea Rescue Institute (NSRI) is South Africa's only non-profit organisation dedicated exclusively to the prevention of drowning and the saving of lives on the country's coastal and inland waters. Through water safety education and survival swimming training, we equip South Africans, particularly children in under-resourced communities, with the skills to stay safe in and around water. We also deploy Pink Rescue Buoys at high-risk swimming spots, giving the public a simple, effective tool to assist someone in trouble while help is on the way. Backed by more than 1 500 unpaid volunteers, the NSRI envisions a nation where drowning incidents are minimised, ensuring the safety of all.

Established in 1872, the Cape of Good Hope SPCA (Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals) is the founding society of the SPCA movement in South Africa and the oldest animal welfare organisation in the country.
A registered non-profit organisation (NPO 003-244) and Public Benefit Organisation (PBO 930004317), the society relies on the support of concerned individuals and corporates to continue operating.
Over the past 154 years, we have diligently carried out our mission to prevent cruelty to animals. This is done through Education, Law Enforcement, and veterinary services via our Animal Hospital, four Mobile Clinics serving impoverished communities, an Animal Care Centre, Horse Care, Farmyard, and Wildlife department.
Our area of operation is vast and covers approximately 3200km².

Songo.info

DONATE

WEBSITE

Songo.info is a social development programme based in Kayamandi, Stellenbosch, using education and sport to provide opportunities for children to learn, grow and play in a safe and supportive environment, while instilling the life skills necessary for a brighter future.

Kayamandi, like many townships in South Africa, is a vibrant but impoverished neighbourhood with historical social challenges including unemployment, gangsterism, alcohol and drug abuse. Many of its youth are trapped in cycles of poverty and violence and opportunities to escape this are scarce. Local state-run education facilities are overcrowded and struggle to equip students with even basic reading and arithmetic skills.

Against this challenging backdrop songo.info provides safety, confidence, hope and opportunity to 130 children, aged 5 to 18, from when they leave school in the afternoon until 6pm in the evening, five days a week. We do this by focusing on three core developmental pillars: Sport, Education and Life Skills.
